About Us

We are a travel club that is part of the four state Mason Dixon Wrestling League. Events are held on Sundays starting the first week in January, ending with a Championship Tournament in March. Wrestlers are matched up according to age, weight and experience.

The club serves as a feeder program to the area middle and high school teams in and around Frederick County and Winchester Va. All skill levels are taught in different practice sessions where wrestlers are grouped by ability.

The club started in 1974 as the Frederick County Wrestling  Club. The name was changed in honor of Coach Willie Walters after his death in 1983 for his contributions to the local area wrestling programs. The success of our program can be seen each year at the Virginia High School League State Championships as former club members win state titles for their schools. Check out our Hall of Fame page.

The club itself has had great success in the Mason Dixon Wrestling League winning 6 titles in a row from 2000 to 2005, then 2013, and 2015, and has consistently finished in the top 5 in the years between.
